The Second Grade curriculum is based on the Standards and benchmarks of the Diocese of St. Petersburg and the Common Core Standards.  The children are challenged to develop their academic skills, social skills, and most importantly, to grow in their faith and relationship with God.  This is facilitated by center work, small group, whole class, and individual instruction.  In Second grade we focus on further developing and strengthening those reading and writing skills introduced in Kindergarten and 1st grade.  These skills are developed in the Language Arts block as well as in the content areas of Science and Social Studies.  Our Math curriculum is enhanced with the use of Accelerated Math.  The children complete paper pencil activities, hands on activities, individual and group projects.  My aim is to help each child achieve to the best of their ability.
