7th and 8th Grade Religion,

Middle School Language Arts

The 8th grade homeroom is designated the Eagles’ Aerie because these students are the leaders of Pope John Paul II Catholic School.  As the oldest students in the school, they enjoy certain privileges and are charged with the duty and responsibility of providing leadership and good example at all times.  Early in this school year, the 8th grade students will each decorate a mini-eagle and mount it in the classroom in a place of their choosing. This eagle will represent their acceptance of the privileges and responsibilities of being an 8th grade leader at PJPII. Congratulations to our outstanding 8th Grade Eagles!

7th and 8th Grade Religion

7th Grade Religion centers on Jesus’ life, teachings, and sacraments.  It presents Jesus’ call to each person to become his disciple and explains how his teachings, sacraments and Church nourish people for discipleship.

8th Grade Religion presents the Church from her beginning at Pentecost, encompassing her teachings and Tradition.  The Ten Commandments and making moral choices is emphasized.  It presents the mission of the Church, entrusted to her by Jesus, as the responsibility of all baptized Catholics.
