As principal of Pope John Paul II Catholic School (PJPII), I am very proud to invite you to scroll through our website. We are a small elementary interparochial Catholic school located in Citrus County, Florida. Our school services students from Early Childhood (three year olds) through eighth grade. We are a multicultural Learning Community where parents, teachers and students engage in life long learning.
PJPII is a fully accredited elementary school. We are certified through the Florida Catholic Conference and we adhere to the FCC Standards and Principles required of all Catholic schools in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Our teachers are licensed through the state of Florida.
Our school is a student-centered organization where all feel welcomed. PJPII offers an opportunity for our young people to grow and develop academically, physically, and spiritually. According to our Iowa Test of Basic Skills (standardized testing), on average, our students score above the national average for private schools. We are very proud of our academic accomplishments, but also have a co-curriculum program which includes numerous athletic teams, band, chorus, and various other activities.
Our school is a component of the evangelizing mission of the Church. Gospel values permeate the curriculum as the total school community strives to incorporate them into their daily lives. The collaboration of parents, pastors, parish communities and school personnel, seek to educate the whole child in an atmosphere of a loving faith community. Our school seeks to provide not only academic excellence, but an excellence rooted in a viable Catholic identity and strong Christian values and ideals.
Our teachers are competent and talented educators who are faith leaders. They design programs that challenge students to think reflectively and critically while recognizing each child’s own unique talents and gifts.
